Senior Engineering Manager, Mortgage

Checkr is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Mortgage to lead 16+ engineers as the head of engineering for Checkr's mortgage business. Reporting to the VP of Engineering with executive visibility, the manager owns the product end-to-end from APIs and integrations to AI/ML-powered verification decisions and the customer experience. This is a role for a hands-on technical leader who has built and scaled high-performing engineering teams and production systems, while staying close to architecture and execution. • 8+ years as an engineering manager and 12+ years as an engineer overall, including experience managing large teams, in addition to managing managers. • Experience owning a P&L or business line, including revenue targets, capacity planning, and cross-functional accountability, ideally for products operating at scale in highly regulated environments. • Deep understanding of service architecture, system design, and lean software development principles. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical strategy into business terms for executives. • Experience with machine learning and AI, and enthusiasm for working in an AI-native company.
