ColdFusion Developer Apprentice

SUMMARY We're seeking an Entry-Level ColdFusion Developer Apprentice to join our development team. This is a structured apprenticeship program designed to take you from foundational CFML concepts through modern application development practices. You'll work alongside experienced mentors, contribute to real projects, and gain hands-on experience building and maintaining dynamic web applications. Over the course of this apprenticeship, you'll develop both core ColdFusion skills and broader software engineering competencies that will launch your career in web development. [Note: Add company overview, office location or remote status, and apprenticeship timeline] RESPONSIBILITIES During this apprenticeship, you will: • Learn CFML fundamentals and CFScript syntax, translating concepts from HTML, JavaScript, or other languages into modern ColdFusion code • Build and debug database-driven applications by connecting ColdFusion servers to MS SQL backends • Contribute to production and internal projects under mentor guidance, applying learning immediately • Participate in pair programming sessions with senior developers to understand code review and best practices • Work with version control systems (Git) to manage code changes and collaborate with the team • Modernize legacy ColdFusion applications by refactoring code into Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) patterns and MVC architecture • Deploy applications to staging and production environments, learning CI/CD workflows • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability

Required Qualifications: • Entry-level proficiency or willingness to learn CFML quickly • Working knowledge of MS SQL (or ability to learn relational databases rapidly) • Strong foundation in HTML, JavaScript, or another programming language • Ability to work collaboratively and receive mentorship • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

• Previous experience with CFML or ColdFusion frameworks • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts or MVC architecture • Experience designing or consuming RESTful APIs • Exposure to Git version control or other source control systems • Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) • Experience writing automated tests
