Senior Engineering Manager, AI Agents

Asana is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the AI Teammates Platform team — the core engineering team responsible for the execution engine and capability layer powering Asana's AI Teammates. The role manages a senior team of approximately 8 engineers (ICs up to L6) building systems that determine how AI Teammates reason, execute, and improve over time — from model integration and rollout to proactive agent behavior to the developer platform enabling other Asana teams to build on top of AI Teammates. Based in San Francisco with hybrid schedule. Salary: $264,000–$300,000.

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years managing technical teams. • Applied AI experience is essential, including at least one year of hands-on experience building products on top of large language models. • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies. • Strong technical foundation with ability to guide architectural decisions in a fast-moving, ambiguous AI product space. • Experience building and scaling platform teams that serve multiple product surfaces and internal engineering consumers. • Comfortable with ambiguity and thriving in zero-to-one product environments. • Effective cross-functional collaborator across Engineering, Product, and Data Science.
