Head of Engineering, Core Product & Collaborative Work Management

Asana is seeking an experienced engineering leader to own and scale the foundational experiences of its Core product, the heart of its collaborative work management platform. This role sits within the Product Engineering Group and reports directly to the CTO. The Head of Engineering will lead the teams responsible for essential features millions of users rely on daily, while reimagining the core Asana experience through AI-native workflows. Estimated base salary: $399,000-$470,000.

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years leading teams, with a track record of shipping high-impact products and integrating AI/ML into user-facing applications. • Deep understanding of collaborative software and distributed systems, with interest/experience in how AI can optimize complex data relationships and work graphs. • A passion for AI-native user-centric design and experience using LLMs to enhance the user's daily workflow. • Strong technical perspective on the modern AI stack, including integrating third-party models (OpenAI, Anthropic) or internal ML services into production. • Hands-on experience building with AI Tooling. • Excellent communication skills bridging deep technical AI infrastructure and tangible business value.
