Software Engineer, Backend

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK. As a Backend-leaning Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, SQL and NoSQL cloud-native databases, and AWS. You'll develop solutions for user, group, and membership management with the highest levels of security and reliability. Remote - United States. Salary: $196,000–$294,000 USD (SF base).

About You • Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Node.js • Strong knowledge of security architecture, LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, SSO, OAuth2, OpenID Connect • Familiarity with access control models such as RBAC, ABAC and ReBAC • Experience with SQL • Practical experience developing and improving applications written in Node.js • Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills
