We're looking for a Remote Medical Data Entry Clerk to accurately enter, update, and maintain patient and healthcare records in our electronic health record (EHR) systems.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
You will:
- Accurately enter patient demographic, insurance, and medical information into EHR/database systems
- Verify data accuracy using multi-step checklists and systematic validation against source documents (intake forms, lab results, referrals, etc.)
- Identify and correct inconsistencies in patient demographics and insurance data; flag incomplete or unclear records for review
- Update and maintain existing patient records as new clinical or administrative information becomes available
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following documented HIPAA compliance procedures and company data security protocols
- Process and organize incoming medical documentation (scanned forms, faxes, emails) according to established workflows
- Assist with coding and categorizing medical records as directed
- Generate basic reports and summaries using Excel, internal reporting tools, or SQL queries (training provided)
- Communicate clearly with clinical or administrative staff to clarify missing or ambiguous information
- Meet daily and weekly data entry productivity and accuracy targets, with support and feedback from your supervisor
- Adhere to company data security policies and complete required compliance training

**REQUIREMENTS**
**Required:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of data entry experience (healthcare setting preferred)
- Typing speed of 50–60 WPM or higher
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient data confidentiality
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, following documented procedures and meeting agreed-upon deadlines
- Systematic approach to verification — comfortable using checklists, validation tools, and multi-step processes to catch errors
**Nice to Have:**
- Associate degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or related field
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar)
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Basic SQL query skills or familiarity with data reporting tools

Qualifications
