Vice President of Engineering

About the Role: We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Engineering to drive our technical strategy and lead our growing engineering organization. This executive role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership skills to scale our AI-powered job portal platform. Key Responsibilities: • Define and execute the engineering vision and technical roadmap • Build, scale, and lead a world-class engineering organization • Partner with C-suite executives to align technology strategy with business goals • Drive innovation through Claude AI integration and emerging technologies • Establish engineering culture focused on quality, velocity, and innovation • Oversee technical architecture decisions and platform scalability on AWS • Manage engineering budget, resources, and vendor relationships • Represent engineering in board meetings and investor discussions Technical Vision: • Lead the evolution of our Node.js/Express.js microservices architecture • Guide Next.js 15 and React 19 frontend modernization • Oversee database strategy with PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM, and Redis • Champion AI-first approach using Claude AI/Anthropic SDK • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance on AWS infrastructure Leadership Expectations: • Build and mentor a team of engineering directors and managers • Foster diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety • Implement engineering excellence programs and career development frameworks • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Data Science Qualifications: • 15+ years of software engineering experience • 8+ years in senior engineering leadership roles • Proven experience scaling engineering teams (50+ engineers) • Strong background in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web technologies • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure at scale • Track record of successful product launches and platform migrations • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred • Experience in high-growth technology companies
