Senior Engineering Manager, Business Systems

Verkada ($5.8B valuation, 30,000+ customers) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to scale up an established Business Systems engineering team. The role requires balancing new product/capability builds with an emphasis on resilience and reliability. Expertise in distributed/financial systems that require high uptime is essential; knowledge of finance systems such as Netsuite is a bonus. The team owns a partner-facing product and requires collaboration with product managers and go-to-market teams. Onsite 5 days/week in San Mateo, CA. Salary: $200,000–$350,000 USD.

• 4+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance. • 10+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions. • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints. • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals. • Experience with Python or Go, and familiarity with backend development flow, including server-side framework and database system. • Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform; experience with Netsuite (or any other ERP); experience building long-term roadmaps and presenting to Executives.
